Equality in Business – it pays off! The promotional campaign launched by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for women’s promotions.
How to improve women’s access to decision-making positions in the Polish companies and institutions? What to do in order to definitely eliminate the invisible barriers that make it difficult for women to participate in the economic decision-making? The Ministry of Labour and Social Policy launched the promotional campaign for the Project ‘Equality in Business’. The Office of Electronic Communications takes part in it by joining the group of Ambassadors for Equality in Business.
The promotional campaign was launched during a press briefing with the Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, and the Government’s Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment, Professor Małgorzata Fuszara, on 2nd September 2015 in the main hall of the Warsaw Stock Exchange at 4 Książęca Street in Warsaw. Challenges in the implementation of the equality policy in Poland, barriers to women’s career paths leading to decision-making bodies in business and the benefits of utilising the potential of diversity were addressed during the meeting.
The coalition of Ambassadors for Equality in Business was presented for the first time during the meeting. In order to respond to the need to synchronize activities and popularise good practices in promoting equality between women and men in access to promotions, the Minister of Labour and Social Policy invited persons, institutions, companies and organizations, which support activities in this area, to join the group of Ambassadors for Equality in Business. The need to popularise the new management standards and the exchange of information and experiences regarding activities connected with the promotion of gender equality in the Polish companies and institutions are the major arguments in favour of the appointment of the Ambassadors for Equality in Business. The title of the Ambassador for Equality in Business has been conferred upon Magdalena Gaj on behalf of UKE.
