According to the President of the URTiP: The meeting with representatives of Polish telecommunications chambers has opened the discussion about the future of Polish telecommunications. It provided the opportunity to share views regarding the liberalisation of the market for international telephony and to present the steps that the telecommunications regulator has been taking in this respect. I hope that the group formed as a result of this meeting will allow us to exchange experience and consult the solutions that we are preparing.
Pursuant to Art. 135 of the Telecommunications Law, restrictions to the provision of international telephone services will expire after 31 December 2002. Thus, from 1 January 2003 the telecommunications market in Poland will be entirely liberalised.
