Report on the coverage of Poland with telecommunications infrastructure in 2015

In 2015 a 30% increase in broadband network was noted - at the end of the previous year the length of optical network in Poland amounted to nearly 420 thousand km. The number of  fibre-optic nodes as of the end of 2015 was by 21% higher than the number declared in the previous inventory.

UKE for GNCC - delegates from the Georgian National Communications Commission at UKE

On 12-14 July 2016 a study visit of the delegates from the Georgian National Communications Commission (GNCC) was held at the UKE premises. The visit was organised under a project titled “UKE’s support for Georgian NRA in reorganisation in order to prepare for functioning according to the EU standards” which is a part of Polish development cooperation programme coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Its aim is to pass on UKE's knowledge and experience as regards the applied methods of market regulation compliant with the EU standards to the Georgian party.

Position of the President of UKE on monitoring the compliance with regulatory obligations by the operator having significant market position on the retail market

This position amends the Position of the President of UKE of 15 July 2010 regarding the control of the compliance with some of the regulatory obligations, including the assessment of the price lists and regulations of the provision of services, by the operator having significant market position on the retail market.

    The President of the Office of Electronic Communications (President of UKE) is the national regulatory authority for the market of telecommunications and postal services. The President of UKE is also the specialised authority in the area of equipment conformity assessment, including telecommunications terminal equipment and radio equipment.

    International activity of the President of UKE consists of, inter alia, cooperation with the European Commission, other EU institutions and Regulatory Authorities of EU Member State. It includes also the cooperation within organizations of which UKE is a member, i.e. the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the Body for European Regulators of Electronic Communications (BEREC) and the European Committee for Postal Regulation (CERP).
