UKE will re-examine the broadband access market

The recommendation of the European Commission issued on 27 August 2012 is the final step phase in the so-called second phase investigation during which the President of UKE strives to persuade the European Commission to accept its draft decision for the wholesale broadband access market (the so-called market 5).

On 20 August 2012, the President of UKE announced the start of a tender for five exclusive frequency licences in the 1729,9-1754,9 MHz and 1824,9-1849,9 MHz bands throughout the country, intended to provide mobile telecommunications services.

Change of TP obligations on retail markets 1 and 2

On 8 August 2012, the President of the Office of Electronic Communications issued regulatory decisions which designate Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. as an undertaking with significant market power in the markets of connecting to the public fixed-line telephone network and maintaining availability of telecommunications services for individual customers and business customers (i.e. markets no. 1 and 2).
