On 7-9 September 2016 in Busan, Republic of Korea, International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organises Young ICT Leaders’ Forum 2016 (YILF-2016) and Busan Global Smart Cities Challenge. Applications should be sent by 16 August 2016.
The YILF 2016 aims to promote an active participation of youth in the digital economy, including promoting the engagement of youth in the field of ICTs, decreasing the digital divide, and promoting research on emerging ICTs particularly Internet of Things (IoT).
The Forum focuses on connecting, sharing and empowering the youth in the ICT Sector in order to enhance their capacity on creating the start-up business of their own and to be a competitive positioning in their professional work field. YILF is to be a platform where the young ICT leaders can exchange their knowledge and build up the innovative concepts into reality by working together as a team. This should foster the development of the IoT industry locally and internationally.
Busan Global Smart Cities Challenge will be a chance for young people to present their innovative ideas on harnessing the power of digital technologies in making a city smarter, safer, and friendlier to environment thereby improving quality of life of the citizens. Applications should be sent directly to the organisers by 16 August 2016.
Applicants are required to submit the complete application form with detail about their innovative ideas for the Busan Global Smart Cities Challenge, concerning i.a. urban population, public transportation, citizen safety, online retail and entertainment, economic restructuring, or problems of an ageing population.
Busan Metropolitan City will provide fellowships (round-trip air ticket and accommodation) to qualified applicants.
