ITU Consultations: access to the Internet for persons with disabilities and specific needs

In accordance with the provisions of the Resolution of the ITU Council (Resolution 1344) the of the ITU Council Working Group on International Internet-related Public Policy Issues (CWG-Internet) announced consultations regarding the access to the Internet for persons with disabilities and with specific needs.

 

All interested parties are invited to send their opinion by completing an online questionnaire, available at the ITU website.

The following questions may be addressed in the course of the consultations:

  • What are the different challenges facing persons with disabilities and specific needs (e.g. lack of ICT skill sets etc.) in accessing and using the Internet?
  • What possible approaches and examples of good practices are available to address these challenges?
  • What are the gaps in addressing these challenges and how can these gaps be filled?  
  • What is the role of governments in addressing these challenges and gaps?

Answers may be sent until 15th January 2016.
