The Global ICT Forum for ITU Plenipotentiary Conference PP-14 was attended by representatives of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the remaining regions (Africa, both Americas, Asia and Pacific), international organizations, non-governmental organizations, science and research bodies and the hosts - representatives of the Korean government.
As a representative of ITU's European region Mr Berezowski presented European priorities in preparations for the PP-14. Participants to the Forum could also hear about UKE's priorities and activities to date, including the telecommunications infrastructure mapping project and the nationwide "Digital Lamplighters" project which serves as a good example of digital skills capacity building in modern information society.
Next year, the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference in the city of Busan (South Korea) will decide on the future of ITU, its strategy, tasks and governance for the next 4 years. While referring to successful outcomes of the Global Symposium for Regulators held in July 2013 in Warsaw, the representative of UKE assured the audience of Poland's effort to reach compromise at the PP-14 Conference as well.
