General exclusive frequency licences for the CenterNet and the Mobyland

After carrying out the Tender for two general exclusive frequency licences, each concerning 49 duplex radio channels with duplex interval of 95 MHz, in the 1710 – 1730 MHz and 1805 – 1825 MHz bands, the President of UKE under the decision dated 30 November 2007 assigned the general exclusive frequency licences to:

  • CenterNet S.A seated in Toruń,
  • Mobyland Sp. z o.o seated in Warsaw.

The frequencies assigned by means of the Tender may be used in the mobile radiocommunication service in the public telecommunications networks (e.g. to provide mobile and fixed telephony or wireless access to the Internet) in the entire territory of Poland until 31 December 2022.

   

The winners of the Tender are obligated:

  • to begin the use of the frequencies and to provide services no later than in 18 months since receiving the general exclusive frequency licenses,
  • to cover with their own networks 15% of the population of Poland until the end of the year 2009,
  • to cover with their own networks using frequencies assigned by this decision 30% of the population of Poland until the end of the year 2012.

   

In addition, both of the companies are obligated to pay a single charge for the exclusive frequency licences to the State Budget in the amount declared in the Tender:

  • CenterNet S.A. - 127.960.000 PLN,
  • Mobyland Sp. z o.o. - 101.960.000 PLN.
