The delegation from the Croatian Regulatory Authority for Network Industries (HAKOM) visited Poland at the invitation of the President of the Office of Electronic Communications.
The visit took place within the framework of the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Office for the regulation of telecommunications and postal markets in Poland. During the meeting held on 7th October 2015 the Memorandum of Understanding in the field of electronic communications between the electronic communications market regulators from Poland and Croatia was concluded.
The Memorandum aims to develop cooperation in the field of electronic communications’ regulation. The President of UKE, Magdalena Gaj, and the President of the Council of HAKOM, Dražen Lučić, PhD, declared the willingness to support and implement joint initiatives, as well as to share information, experience and experts between the national regulatory authorities of the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Croatia.
Both Parties discussed also the current situation in the telecommunications and postal markets in Poland and Croatia as well as indicated potential areas for further cooperation in the upcoming years, including: sharing experience connected with the liberalisation of the postal services market, solutions aiming to improve the quality of telecommunications services provision, consumer protection, development of telecommunications infrastructure and stimulating the increase of investments in this infrastructure.
A detailed subject matter of the cooperation between UKE and HAKOM will be developed in the near future.
